OHV

The OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) Team uses a variety of machines to quickly contain a search area or locate any missing subjects. 

Dive

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team is tasked with the recovery of drowning victims from the waterways within Nevada County.

Evidence

The Evidence Team supports the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office when additional resources are needed to conduct a search of a crime scene.

Ground

The Ground Team forms the backbone of Search and Rescue. Everyone on the Search and Rescue  team is first and foremost a ground-pounder.

Incident Command

The IC Team is the management nucleus of a NCSSAR incident. It is comprised of three internal sections: logistics, planning and operations.

Nevada County Search and Rescue hosts a large Dog Team, whose speed, agility, and scent detection assist in locating missing persons and evidence.

Nordic

The goal of the Team is to respond safely and effectively in winter search environments. They often scale snowy summits and deploy in poor conditions. 

Technical Ropes

In situations when a missing subject or searcher is found trapped in a steep area, the Ropes Team is responsible for extricating them and bringing them to safety. 

Tracking

Using clue awareness, the Tracking Team is responsible for determining a missing subject’s direction of travel based on the subject’s “point last seen.” 

eBike

Used as a quick response team to a known location in various types of terrain and conditions; from paved roads and dirt logging roads to single track trails.
