Brave steep hillsides, snow, downed logs, and rough terrain.

The OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) Team is equipped with vehicles, ranging in size for various environments or search operations. Members use the power of their machines to quickly contain a search area or locate any missing subjects.

what it takes…

OHV Team members must:

  • Have personal gear consistent with a type 2 searcher
  • Meet all off-road vehicle and gear legal standards
  • Pass a one-day basic training course
  • Participate in advanced and on-going training

Our highly skilled team of search and rescue professionals fearlessly navigates the challenging Sierra Nevada terrain. From snow-covered peaks to dense forests, we use UTVs, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and snowcats to reach those in distress. Our mission: to bring people home safely.
