Incident Command TEAM

The Incident Command (IC) Team serves as the central management hub. It consists of three internal sections: logistics, planning, and operations.

IC Team Skills

Team members are experienced searchers, team players, and strong leaders. They excel at computer and mapping tasks, pay careful attention to detail, and delegate responsibilities to their teammates.

Additional Training

In addition to the standard SAR training IC Team members must complete additonal training required by Nevada County and the California Emergency Management Agency.

Multi-Function Command Center

Typically used in SAR operations, IC can also be applied to other events such as evacuations, parades, concerts, or handling disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods, and winter storms.

At the heart of every mission you find the Incident Command (IC) Team.

The unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes. Here’s a glimpse into their world:

Home Base Operations: Picture a bustling command center, humming with activity. The IC Team huddles around screens, maintaining radio communications, mapping out strategies, and documenting every move.

Resource Summons: In our SAR operations, resource management is a critical priority. We ensure that every available resource is effectively utilized to achieve our mission. Whether it’s deploying helicopters to search rugged terrain, coordinating medical teams, or leveraging neighboring county volunteers, our mantra remains: ‘No resource left unturned.

Live Tracking and Debriefs: Throughout the search IC tracks all personnel real-time and updates teams with new information. When the search teams return from the field—muddy boots and all—the IC Team ensures a solid debrief, extracting every detail from the search teams.
